Da Lat and Its Flower Seasons
Da Lat is known as the city of a thousand flowers. Blossoms fill every corner of locals' gardens and the city's vast flower parks, bloom in little clusters around Xuan Huong Lake and blanket wild, vibrant fields on the outskirts. It is the signature charm of this misty city: every month, every season, the dreamy town dons a new silk dress woven from countless flowers. Join VN Cooking to discover the flowers of Da Lat!
1. Hydrangeas
You can't talk about Da Lat without mentioning hydrangeas. They bloom almost all year round here, and you'll easily spot small clusters of them along the streets in the city center. But visit when the hydrangea fields are in full bloom and the sight will take your breath away.

Getting there: The hydrangea fields are on the outskirts, about 15 km from the center of Da Lat, roughly a 40-minute ride.
2. Lavender
A lavender field covering several hectares has now been successfully planted beside the romantic Tuyen Lam Lake.

To get there, head straight toward the Clay Tunnel tourist area, then turn left following the signs.
3. White bauhinia
The white bauhinia is the signature flower of the northwestern mountains, yet since it appeared in Da Lat it has quietly won many hearts. From February to the end of March, its delicate, snow-white blossoms burst open against Da Lat's clear blue sky.

The trees are planted along Quang Trung, Tran Hung Dao, Tran Phu and Phu Dong Thien Vuong streets, among others. In a city already famous for its flowers, the pure white of the bauhinia draws visitors all the more.
4. Sunflowers
Fields of sunflowers in full bloom have become a favorite stop for many visitors to Da Lat. The misty, chilly weather is brightened by brilliant yellow sunflowers that seem to bring extra warmth to the place.

To catch the sunflowers at their best, follow the road from Van Thanh flower village to Ta Nung Pass, where there are usually plenty of sunflower gardens. There is also a large sunflower field at the Dalat Milk farm in Don Duong district.
