What to Pack for the Perfect Trip
Once you've settled where to travel, you'll of course need to work out what to bring. To avoid slip-ups on your trip, check out the list of essentials below.

MONEY AND BASIC ID
Money is a must on any trip, but carry a sensible amount of cash and don't keep too much on you. These days ATMs are everywhere and withdrawing money is easy, so there's no need to carry a lot of cash.
Your ID card, driving license, passport and vehicle papers (if you're traveling by your own vehicle) should always be with you. Keep all your documents in one fixed place, such as your wallet or a particular pocket of your bag, so you won't lose them or forget where you put them.
TECH GEAR
Traveling is about soaking up the atmosphere of the places you visit, but you'll still need to stay in touch and take photos to remember your trip.

Everyone's mobile phone goes everywhere with them, but if you're traveling somewhere with limited access to electricity, bring a power bank. It can be a lifesaver if your phone suddenly runs out of battery halfway through the day.
If you're traveling in a group, bring a selfie stick so you can take wider shots and fit more people in the frame.
Headphones: listening to music while watching the wonderful scenery go by is the perfect way to relax on the road. They also let you sleep more comfortably without being disturbed by outside noise.
CLOTHING
Choose your clothes to suit your destination, but above all, dress comfortably.

If you're heading to the beach, a stunning swimsuit is a must, along with comfortable outfits: for men, shorts, T-shirts and shirts in cool fabrics; for women, simple dresses in white or brown tones to flatter your figure, plus shorts, loose T-shirts and a favorite jacket. And don't forget a set of pajamas.
ACCESSORIES
Avoid taking expensive jewelry; instead, bring inexpensive but practical accessories such as sunglasses, a watch, a hat, a face mask and gloves.

Wherever you go, bring at least 1 pair of sneakers and 1 pair of sandals. These are the 2 types of footwear you absolutely need, handy whether you're going to the beach or the mountains.
TOILETRIES
This is what really matters. Even on holiday, you need to keep up your personal hygiene and stay clean.
Toothpaste, a toothbrush, a comb, shampoo, shower gel and cosmetics are essentials you must bring. Choose mini or sachet sizes of all of them, so you have just enough without taking up too much space or adding too much weight to your backpack.
You should also bring a bath towel, a face towel and a razor, and girls should definitely bring makeup so they feel confident in every photo.
MEDICINES AND BASIC FIRST AID
Pills for travel sickness, headaches and stomachaches should also be in your travel backpack. You can't always avoid mishaps on a trip, so it pays to be prepared.
Medicated oil, plasters, rubbing alcohol, antiseptic, cotton wool... that may sound like a long list, but you can simply buy an all-in-one kit with everything in it from a pharmacy. It isn't very big, so don't worry about carrying it.
OTHER ITEMS
A backpack for larger items and a small bag for small things you use often.

A book, a notebook and a pen are also useful to bring along.
If you're traveling in a group, bring playing cards, a board game such as ludo or other games for entertainment in your room.
FOOD
If you're going somewhere remote where food is hard to find or buy, preparing your own supplies is extremely important. Dry rations, instant noodles and bottled water are things you should think about.
If you're traveling to a city or a densely populated area, food isn't a big issue. Still, bring bottled water for the journey, and a few snacks to munch on when you're bored are always fun.
Don't let unexpected problems spoil your trip: write down everything you need to bring before your holiday. Play to your heart's content, relax and let go of stress on your trip. Every journey is an experience, so enjoy it to the full!
